I was on Ebay recently, surprise, surprise, and noticed a Goldedge going for 300 bucks. I can't believe it. It looks good, but I noticed something on the edge of the blade that I assume would clean/hone up.
But who knows, the seller doesn't accept returns, which would worry me as a buyer, Why would he not accept a return if the item was good/great condition? I know if I sold one of my razors, which I have no doubt in my mind anyone would be pleased to have as they are mint and shave ready, I would accept a return. I think it's good business and instills confidence in the buyer. When I see, "no returns" or "As is" I have to wonder why. I just can't believe the price of a Goldedge, I have about 10 ducks. I have some that look like they were never used and I think I paid 80 dollars. As much as I like Ducks, I think If I was going to drop 300 on Ebay, and have to buy based on a picture, I'd buy a Livi NOS from Don and Lynn which are superior shavers IMHO.

Thanked: 3164Possibly because Ebay began as an auction listing site, and a lot of people still see it that way. You wouldn't try to take something back to a real auction house, would you?

Point taken, Just say you bought something that you intended to use, not hang on the wall and look at. I've actually had to tell vendors that. Many have said, Oh, I didn't realize that people used these still? With an Auction house, like Christies, Buyers are allowed to inspect and look over merchandise prior to buying it. My point with Ebay is, you only have a picture and the vendors word. I bought a Dubl Duck one time that had bad rust all the way down to the sharp edge. It was bad. but anyway, the prices have just gone crazy.....

Even if the seller says, "as is",or "no returns" if you pay by Paypal you can get your $$ back. If the item is not as described or if a flaw wasn't mentioned you can file a dispute if the seller won't make it right.
I think Paypal tends to lean toward the buyer more then the seller. Now that sellers can't retaliate with negative feedback many are more agreeable to a return in spite of a no return policy.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Your right. That's what I did with the lame duck. The seller had to take it back. I disputed it on Paypal. Once she refunded my money, I removed the negative feedback I'd left her. I tried to tell her that the razor was pretty much unusable. She didn't seem to care. I contacted my old friend Bob Keyes, aka Altima55 and he told me about disputing in on paypal,and they normally side with the buyer, which in my case was a good thing.
