I've been waiting since 14th October 08 for mine from Robert. It should be ready very soon. Any day in fact! He was pretty accurate on the waiting time. The interlude allows your ideas develop.

Went back through my correspondence, and mine was ordered on 20 October 2008.

Was there a late October ordering binge for his razors, or what? I think there should be at least one more (I think) order between me and the top of that list....
This is going to be my workhorse razor. Funny, how my first full custom is purposefully not a "bling" razor, but is one that is meant to be the "if the world ends, and I only get to take one razor..." razor.
15/16 S-30V square point, thumb notch, top and bottom jimps 1/2 hollow, micarta scales, hammered spine. Yummy.

8 months might be enough.
maybe 6/8 stainless, mirror finish, thumb notch, lower jimps and star spine in American Elk horn?
waaay to soon to discuss this with Mrs Py.
Now I have to find someone to make a brush in Elk.

Thanked: 324There was a big bubble of people getting into the work queue between October and November. I'm running between 5-8 months, varying somewhat due to the peaks and valleys of order activity - and me not accidentally using the grinder to trim my fingernails, which happens from time to time. It's very, very efficient at doing this.

Thanked: 154I own a few custom knives, but I don't yet own a custom razor. Seeing the ones you guys have, though, is making me seriously consider it. The Livi, Williams and Ellis razors you guys have are works of art!
On a recent visit to my favorite local knife shop, they had two made by Greg Lightfoot. Damascus blades with carbon fiber & mammoth ivory scales:
Greg Lightfoot CF/Mammoth Ivory Scales
Greg Lightfoot Carbon Fiber Scales
They seemed pretty heavy to me, but felt well balanced. They looked almost too nice to shave with. Do you guys mainly keep your customs as collectibles, or do you shave with them regularly?
Cheers,
Jeff

Thanked: 20RW#3
Again, I got my RW#3 by just calling John Crowley and 2 days later another RW razor, no ordering line or seven months wait. Shaving while others wait in anticipation. Juan.
