I wanted those as well and finally got them. Like every other item that I just had to have to bring happiness once I got them it was into the drawer and onto the next thing. BTW, Ducks are great razors but they don't have jimps. That is a bummer IMO.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

x2 for the fact that it has St. Paul, Minn stamped on it and I live a few blocks from hess itself.
Too bad.......Randy has already cleaned out the Hess Factory. Rumor has that he camped out there for a couple years until they inspected every inch of the facility for straight razors and gave him every one............

The only two razors I want more than a Hess Stainless are a Wonderedge and a Reaper.

I love my Goldedge and Leader to bits.

Also on my hitlist are: Otto Deutsch, FWE Special #1, a nice Fritz Bracht preferably Tennis Dovo is fine too though, any other double duck, a Wusthof Dreizack, a Wusthof Gladiatorwerk EDIT: oh and a god**** ****ing Otto ****ing Fromm Red Head or other nice vintage Fromm because I like their lines and I've been outsniped 5 god**** ****ing ****ty ****ing piece of **** times on the bay. Its more of a vendetta now than anything. Thats how you know you have RAD. The reason you want something is because you failed to buy it....

Sure, there are production razors.... but these Hess's and the Ducks are just as ornate, and in my opinion so much better. I'd rather pay good money for a rare beauty than the same for a production that is only priced that high because of a cartel. I'm with you on spending loads on great vintages.
    Glad I could help!

Edit: Never mind. I was able to get a street view with google map. If interested go to google map and put this address in : 1911 Rice St, St Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota 55113. Go to street view and navigate around the corner to the right to see the front.
I've been to the Hess building as has Randy of course. It's an unassuming single story building. Remember, no razors were ever manufactured at Hess. If I understand the way a barber in my town described Hess' Hair Milk, it's like a Grecian Formula hair colorant to keep the gray out.

There aren't even any of the classic Hess straight razors on display in the office area although they do have actual bottles of the Hair Milk and how the bottles differed through the years.

According to Lynn, the reason for that is because took all of them!
