Yes, look for the postal employee in your delivery chain with the newly minted bbs cheeks.

More seriously, sorry to hear about your loss. We depend on the mail for a lot of things, and it's a disappointment when the system breaks down.

Who knows, maybe it will turn up for you to recover one day, like those stories of old wallets and rings and such.

I just might do that, if anyone could PM me with his web site, email, or telephone number I think I'll definitely contact him about eventually purchasing a replacement. I'll try to contact him through SRP, but I think he's been off for a few weeks.

Anyway, thanks for all the kind comments guys.

    Default hope for the hopeful?

    Never give up.
I purchased an old 1937 TI from someone and had it shipped, (with delivery confirmation but without insurance) to my house. A couple of days went by, and I expected it any day. The USPS tracking system is extremely inept, so I have grown to not trust it. However, on this occasion, the system stated delivered when no such package had been delivered. I spoke to just about everyone at the post office, and got the ultimate answer that it had been lost. I felt so frustrated. In the afternoons, when I could catch her, I kept asking my mail carrier,"Do you, by chance, remember this one package a few weeks ago?" LOL of course she had no such memory. I was just grabbing at straws. Well, somehow, about a month and a half later, the razor arrived at the door. No explanation of where it had been. The post mark date matched up with the original send dates. The blade in good condition. I was elated! I didn't ask any questions.

Maybe in the not too distant future, some mail worker will find your missing package in between the seats of the van. Then that package may find its way to you. Here's to hope.

I had the same problem with a package I ordered from KenRup. Delivery confirmation said it had been delivered but lo and behold, nothing at my door. Finally two days later the package showed up.

Here's what happens (as an ex-postman for USPS):

In the morning, the mailman picks up all his mail to be delivered for the day. He also picks up his packages. He's SUPPOSED to scan (with a hand-held device) the package when he gets to your door and leaves the package. However, some (not all) postal workers are very lazy (I am an eyewitness) and they scan all their packages in the morning before they even leave the office. This completely defeats the purpose of delivery confirmation.

So, one of two things happened. 1) The bad case - The package got lost on the route after he scanned it in the morning or 2) The not-so-bad case - The package is still sitting at the post office but marked as delivered.

Hopefully #2 is what happened to your package, and I'm 99% sure it's what happened to mine (it's probably also what happened to the other poster who waited over a month). With any luck, the error will be noticed quickly, and the package will be delivered on one of the subsequent routes.

Either way, I wish you the best of luck.

That's horrible news, huntmol. Hopefully it'll turn up and if not good luck in the future.

that is terrible. I too have lost two razors, one I was VERY VERY excited about, an 8/8 wedge wostenholm with a really cool diamond shaped tang. both of mine were lost en route to vegas. the wosty was a crazy situation, the mail lady took it to a completely different address, not even close to the right one. the supervisor said she was getting in trouble because she'd had other problems and this one wasn't even close to being understandable, further it was supposed to be signed for and that signature thing was never turned in. complete FUBAR.

I wonder if I should start using UPS. or having them sent in bigger boxes. flat rate is flat rate, maybe that would make it more likely to make it. harder to just loose.
