Yes, I'm the lucky soul who got that last one at Rasage. I finally used it today for the first time after learning on a Gong razor purchased here on the sales board a few weeks ago. It is indeed a Carbonsong 135 blade, and it is indeed a fine razor, though I had to hone it to be sure it was shave ready.

I'll use this opportunity to say thanks to everyone on the forum for the help you've given me, whether expressly (thanks Great White Hunter) or via past posts.

This is interesting. I was in NYC last weekend, and a shaving shop in the Grand Central Concourse (don't recall the name) has Thiers-Issard razors with the name of the shop etched. They were probably the same razor we're talking about. They started at $135 for plastic scales and went up from there for stainless scales, tortoise and horn scales.

Thank you all for mentioning my company, Knifecenter.com, here on the forums. We were actually the first company selling straight razors and shaving products on the web in 1995 and were also the first to import and sell Thiers Issard in the US. Concerning the Thiers Issard products we sell at the Knifecenter - They claim that their razors are now all presharpened and ready to use and so, paying for a further honing may be unnecessary.
They do, indeed ship ours with the "Special Coiffure" stamp on the blade and probably ship a different stamp on those they ship elsewhere. We are the only company that gets the "Eagle" stamp in the US.

Our prices may seem low because we have negotiated better pricing through the years with all of our suppliers. Likewise, our shipping is generally less as well. Also, our service, you will find is second to none.
All that being said, I hope that you folks will consider us for future purchases.
    Thanks,

Welcome to SRP Howard. The vendors that you see with links to their website on our pages help to support the forum. I don't know the details of that support but if you were to want to join in a PM to Lynn would probably get you the particulars. Nice website you have there.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
