Great idea and thanks for doing this! I'm set with Japanese blades but I'm sure many others will be interested.

A very generous offer. Based on my discussions with TBS, I know that he is extremely knowledgable about Japanese straights and I can only assume this razor will be extremely sharp. Given the knowledge and skill that TBS has, this is a doubly gracious offer.

Dear SRP Members:
Jump on this so we can get the ball rolling.
I might be a little biased since I'm first on the list.
Thanks

I expect to get the list together and ship it out on Thursday. So if any more are interested make your move now. Actually once I get the razor back we can always do a second pass around.

Thanked: 335spendur,
I haven't read all the comments - so disregard if already answered.
Is using a Japanese style straight, straight razor remarkably different than extending the handle of one's more occidentally styled, folding (bent) straight razor so it's 180 degrees out from the blade and shaving away?
Regardless, yours is a generous offer for those tempted to try new and different things.

Well, the way you describe it yes its night and day. But your talking apples and oranges so you need to realize that. Comparing a western to japanese the dimensions are differerent, the grind is different, the feel in the hand is totally different, the edge is different.
But in the end its no different than say learning to drive a manual transmission..without syncromesh...and having to double clutch. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
