I had a barber here in my home town that I got to know back in the 1970s that I became friends with tell me that he could get me a professional straight razor. I tried to get him to order me a straight razor then, in the mid 70s ( I was in my early 20s then) from his barber supply house. He told me in 1975 that he could get me a Dubl Duck razor for about $85 ( 1970s dollars that is) which was a real chunk of money back then. I distinctly remember him naming that brand. He told me that they were German made and were very good and I remember that too. Since then and just in the past year I talked to an older retired barber where I hunt at, who told me that he used a Dubl Duck "Wonder Edge" in his barber business. He told me that he had retired in 1999. I would assume his razor probably wasn't all that old.

I'm confused here?? Did I get inaccurate information from these gentlemen? Or was Dubl Duck still selling new razors in the 1970s? I've got a very good memory and I know that's what both of those guys told me. Because I distinctly remember that brand name. OK experts set me straight.
