You and I can start this business...we'll meet at midnight at the local cemetary...lol!
I'm kidding..
But geesh human bone...bleh!!! So imagine....that razor I used a few weeks ago had my great great great great uncles leg bone on it..just the though...blahhhhh! Somehow I'm glad I don't own human boned razors..
On another note, it truly suck's that it was stolen. If I spot it, for sure I'll report it here.
Good luck recovering it.

I agree. For me, if I knowingly had a razor with human bone scales, shaving with the razor would be less enjoyable for that reason. Really, in large part because IMO there are so many other cool non-human natural scale materials out there. It's just a bone and obviously what was done 100+ years ago was done, and not for nefarious reasons but eh, the idea isn't one I care for.

Bone Scales
I agree on all counts about using better and less ghoulish materials to shave with.
I had planned to re-scale that old razor someday. I have good luck using wooden window shade shutter samples. I have done several. They are extremely easy to work up and once dipped in some clear-coat, they are neat and easy to care for. You can probably get the samples from Home Depot or Lowes. Some of them are in different colors. I just used a wood stain pattern. One of the best things about using that material is that you can create any kind of ergonomic patterns very easily. Later on a more substantial and esthetic material can be fabricated from the wooden ones. This is a good way to clear of the human materials aspect of shaving apparatii.Last edited by timberrr59; 11-13-2009 at 08:01 PM. Reason: lost word

Human bone? Sounds like a nice way to leave your family more than just some fond memories. Maybe Grandpa wanted to be remembered every time one of his descendants needed a shave?
Imagine it: as you're cleaning and oiling your razor (including Gramps), give it a little salute and a "Thanks again, old boy!".
Now where did I put that will?

"You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways, Dude. You don't wanna know about it, believe me. Hell, I can get you a toe by 3 o'clock this afternoon... with nail polish."
Sorry, I had to throw that in this thread. Oh and DPflaumer, I live in Oklahoma City, which just happens to be where Skulls Unlimited is based. They do all kinds of Osteological (I think I may have made that up) work, including human. They have bone of pretty much any animal you could think of, including human. I have never checked the prices, but if you are interested I could get you some and mail it to you. That is assuming they don't sell it online, which they may. Just let me know what body part you are interested in and i'll check prices.
I know this sounds really bad, but believe me I'm not morbid, just insensitive.
