Thread: Metropol 7 day set

Hi,
I'm not really shure if METROPOL was a trademark of GOEDECKE & CO... I only found pictures of their razors w/o this trademark.
I found pictures of a METROPOL straight razor of CHARLES HAKE, REMSCHEID-SOLINGEN on a dutch website recently.
CHARLES HAKE also used the trademarks CHARLEX and DIABOLO.
Hope that helps a little more to identify the 7-Day-Set of 'Scipio' who opened this thread... I know - I'm a bit late, but better late than never...
Greetings from Solingen

Thanks
I identified mine as Goedecke and Cos. At the time I wasn't familiar with the brand but the reverse of the tang has the logo on it.

Seems that GOEDECKE & CO bought this trademark from CHARLES HAKE when he closed his business in early 1900s.
I own myself a #7 CHARLEX that dates back to 1900-1920 and I never saw newer examples of this maker, while the GOEDECKE & CO razors I now are mostly dating from early 1930s to 1960s (with Celluloid or plastic scales)...
