thats a tiny chip half a bevel deep, i got a razor in my rotation that has a chip like that , i have shaved a few times with it and no problem. my feeling is that if it dosnt gouge your strop it wont gouge your face but i am sure others have had other experences.anyway with mine ill hone it out when it needs honeing,

The knick is not very deep (very difficult to capture in pictures) and is completely bizarre since the knife was not dropped or bumped into anything. Does this look like something that could be honed out? Thanks!
Those are some long deep striations. What were you honing it with?

+1. That's not the factory finish.

Is it possible that the blade has hit the scales when closing? I made a similar chip in one of my first razors with careless closing.
