It does look to be a bit tapered and it seems there's a larger dark spot at the edge towards the heel side which is pitting so you'll have to make sure the edge is ok. Seems the seller did a great job of trying to avoid any pictures showing a closer side of the front where the dark spot is. If the edge turns out ok, it should be a very good shaver.

Thats strange, it worked when I clicked on it. In any event it's a W.H. Morley & Sons Clover Brand straight razor. Blade looks in good condition, as well as the scales. The box looks pretty banged up though.

It's gonna depend on that spot near the toe, and whether it is just a surface stain or something more serious that will affect the bevel and require sanding to fix. From what we can see, looks quite healthy otherwise-a tiny bit overhoned near the toe but that's no worry.

I'll bet it is just cosmetic and you got a good deal.

Morley & Sons are generally good shavers.

Looks like flattening on the spine in addition to the previously mentioned description. The spot is always a concern as if it does not effect the edge, it will most likely still result in pitting if you try to clean it up.

If you have time, it is a good idea to try to get some advice on a razor prior to purchase if possible.

    Have fun,

    Lynn

Thanks Lynn and everyone else for the feed back. I actually won this one unintentionally. I became top bid, and expect to be outbid in the final minutes, which didn't happen. I have a couple others I'm looking at, so I'll definitely post those up.

    Thanks,

    Dave

These are also usually very nice shavers.

I don't know if some of the ebay sellers take pictures like these intentionally, but there appears to be some pitting through out the blade. You could end up after some restoration with a shiney, pitted blade that shaves well. The edge and spine don't look bad.

Actually and unfortunately most intentionally do this. That's why it's always a good idea like Lynn said to post a link if interested so we can give our thoughts.
