Well, nice job on the scales anyway. As others said, you could get 100 for it eBay as is.

First one is how nice and pretty the scales turned out.

Second one is what happened when I tried to clean the rust off and it slipping from my hand, and landing on a glass bottle on my floor (Arizona Iced Tea, for record)

Nice scales! Look on the bright side. Now you have an opportunity to replace the Gold Dollar with a blade more worthy of those scales!
