I don't like goldwash. I don't like the way it looks. But then again I don't like gold on anything. My wedding band is tungsten.

I also don't like the way 4/8 and smaller razors look. They may shave great, I don't know. I'm really not interested in finding out.

Anything rusty pitted & neglected & unhoned is ugly to me yet some collectors may find it beautiful.
I'm ok with patina but the blades gotta 'work'

JimmyHAD, ha those razors are exactly what i don't like but you love them, I'm very minimalistic in what I love, I prefer classy to showy things.

    Vive la difference!

    cheers

I like both ends of the spectrum although as you would see if you were to view my collection/accumulation I am a traditionalist at heart. A bit of the other once in awhile keeps life interesting.

I'm with you here. I don't like tiny razors just from an aesthetic perspective. They just look awkward. Like a popsicle stick that folds into a handle.
I agree with the 2nd poster that those weird TI's that look like they were misground are really ugly. I also agree with others who don't like abalone, most wood, or stubby tails.
I didn't read all this thread, but in what I did read, I didn't see anyone mention big pins. I really don't like elaborate, big pins. They remind me of tasteless, gaudy cowboys (not all cowboys, just the gaudy ones who wear too much shiny crap)
That's all I can think of for now...

+1 on gold wash, like mentioned, gold isn't my thing..

I also find most of the Filarmonica razors to be ugly, not sure why, they just are...

I like all kinds of razors.
There is just 2 things I really don't like.
First there is the Wade & butcher style, you know with the ridge/bulge on the spine.
It sorta look like a shavette or something. I have no doubt they are excellent shavers though, just not pleasing to my eye.
The other thing I don't like is razors that is just too much, design-wise.
there is one debated on this site right now, the one that is on ebay for about $40 dollars, damascus and not made for shaving(sic). That kinda design is just too much in my opinion. I want it clean, flowing and simple.

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Razors, like people, gain a lot of credibility with a little patina. I don't remember where, but I recently saw a razor with black and white checkboard scales, it just looked...tacky...kinda new wave, metrosexual, hipster. No Sir, didn't like it. Not a big fan of skinny blades either.
