looks like its a case of add 15

As a customer service, the razors in our Dovo inventory labeled "PRESHARPENED" have been additionally honed in the USA by a ClassicShaving Sharpening Expert before being returned to our inventory. The razors without this description have been sharpened by DOVO in Germany and have not recieved additional sharpening. Most of our "PRESHARPENED" razors may be ordered, by phone or email, without the additional sharpening, at a 15.00 reduced cost.

    Wink Mix it up

+10 on what pabster said. Variety is the spice of life.

I like the idea of a seven-day set, but I also like variety in my razors. So I'm slowly trolling for "day" marked razors of diffrerent kinds. So far, I have a Sunday that needs some TLC, and a Thursday that is mint and being honed by Kees even as I type. Pics below. I hope to collect a different razor for each day for my set. Obviously, this is going to take some time, but I think each razor will be more fun to use that way.

I also "get" the idea of uniformity. I like my sixguns to be matched, my razors, diverse.

I've got three seven day sets, all vintage. One is one of those 'souvenir of Solingen' sets and happens to be by an obscure maker that I collect so I won't divulge the name. Another is a mint set of Fritz Bracht Dovos with 2 stamped Dorp & Voos identical to the others. I figure it is a pre-war set. I've never used either of them. My shaving set is a Kropp that I got in really good condition with the exception of some pepper spots and one cracked blade that I saved by reducing from 6/8 to 5/8.

I've had other sets go through my hands and one thing that I've noticed is that with many of them only one or two razors seem to have been used. I suppose the owner would shave with one or two and not bother with the others. I do agree that it is boring to have the same razor 7 times over if that is all you have. I like the idea of collecting 7 different named razors with the days of the week on the spine. I may give that a go if business ever picks up.

Is the "Souvenir of Solingen" set the maker as my "Thursday" razor depicted above? I'm not trying to follow up on more of those, just curious who makes it.

That set is probably a good set of basic razors, but I have to agree with Pabster. Get a variety of razors, its just more fun..!

IME when you post that this or that company makes a great razor the ebay price goes up. The more people that chime in and agree that it is a great razor the higher it goes up. So I prefer to keep the name to myself. It is not the same maker as yours BTW and I have never seen the name mentioned on any forum nor is it in Goins book or internet lists of Solingen makers. I want to keep it that way.

I would also look at it from the stand point of how often do you shave? If you shave every day then a 7 day set may be worth it. Personally I get by shaving every other day so only need 4 razors in my rotation to do a weeks worth of shaving. A 7 day set would actually be a 2 week set for me . I like Lawson's idea and may have to "create" my own 7 day set though.

Totally understand. I'm just curious to find out who made my "thursday" razor. The inlay on the scales, the style of the inlay on the blade, I see duplicated on other razors, but by different makers. I saw an identical razor sans "Thursday" inlay, by Fr. Herder, another with the identical day inlay by Wacker, so I'm curious about the conventions and so forth associated with these, that different makers still employ the same styles and motifs.
