7 Day Set?
ive been looking into some backuo razors or just more razors for future use and i figured hey, why not seven? I found a set on Classicshaving.com through this site. its a DOVO set, but the price almost seems too good to be true. Are these blades of the same quality as my recently purchased Dovo Best Quality? Is 57$ per razor too good to be true?
this is the set. Straight Razor Sets

Thanked: 190You may find that a variety of razors is more fun than a set of the same 7. I only have a few great razors to shave with and one alone can shave me for the whole week.

lets say im on a budget and im one of those guys who really likes everything to be uniform rather than change it up all the time. Are these good quality razors?

IME Dovos are a good quality razor. I haven't used that particular model but would imagine Classic wouldn't be selling them if they weren't good. Straight Razor Designs also sells Dovos and I know they wouldn't sell a less than stellar product.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Call the vendor and ask what the differences are.
stuff like.. grind, polish, finish and scales. Ask
them to compare and contrast with the razor you
have and like.
I would bet that these have not sold well because
it is a bunch of bucks in one pile. The scales are
simple and plain which may be part of the reason
for the low price.
The key differences on new blades are grind, size, polish, finish and scales.
If you like your "Best Quality Dovo" and it is also a 5/8 with the
same grind as the members of this set etc. you will likely be happy.
Call and ask..... If you are looking for "shavers" you
could have found a bargain.

Thanked: 12Personaly for $400 I would rather have one very very nice razor, a custom or something other than 7 cheap razors.
I am not knocking Dovo, my main razor is a 6/8 Dovo Best and it works great.

Yep. $400 is a grip to pay for 7 entry-level razors. If you want something more interesting, get a gent's pair of Dovo Specials or Revisors. Heck, you can get a magnificent Wacker for less than that.

Thanks to "red96ta" showing me a place where I scored a single razor from a 7day... I got the goofy idea to dig up a full set of date marked razors, but from different makes One down 6 to go haha (Ya RAD can be a harsh mistress )....
Personally if you really want the uniformity of a 7 day set and you can't find a vintage one, than go for it. But I like the idea of getting the Pair of higher end razors for the same price range, Quality is always better in the long run

The price is good for a Dovo but as mentioned above call and ask about them. Be sure they come shave ready of if that will increase the price. Also ask about their return policy and do not do anything to them if you are thinking of possibly returning them. In the end it is what you can afford and what makes you happy. Be aware that over time your preference in razors may change. Also, if trends continue and you don't damage the razors they should maintain their value. Good luck.

I have experience with only one DOVO but from numerous opinions I've read on the forums, the biggest difference from one of their razors to another is the scales. Oh and by the way, keep in mind that you'll have to add $20 or so per razor for honing. It's doubtful they'll come shave-ready, no matter what the vendor may tell you. (Unless they were to come from SRD of course).
