Default Oldest Razor in Your Shaving Rotation?

I've recently enjoyed shaving with what I call my "Board of Elders." These are more vintage razors that I set aside for "someday when I learn to hone." Well, someday has come, and I've enjoyed seeing these old razors come to life in response to my touch on the hones.

I don't know the exact ages, but all are likely 75 or more years old. What we have here are, L-R, very familiar warhorses:

    • Wostenholm IXL
    • Dubl Duck Gold Edge, my first "restoration" razor
    • Robeson Shur Edge-amazing blade!
    • Yankee Cutlery Lion-professionally honed, ruined by me, rehoned by me
    • Dubl Duck Special Wedge #1

So...what's the oldest razor you regularly shave with? I imagine some of you guys have some genuine Senior blades!

Just shows that the right strokes can keep the oldest guy sharp!

One of my favourite razors. A wedge blade with a wild shape. Ragourd a Toulouse and a Heart symbol is all thats on the shank. It has no tail except a very small stub which does not protrude beyond the scales so you can't see it.

I have no idea how old she is and have posted it before, the general consensus being that she is probably early 1800s, if not late 1700s. Ivory scales with an original bulls eye pivot pin and interestingly flush fitted wedge pin, and beautiful inlay.

This is the only one that I would never sell for any amount. Awesome edge, beyond anything else I have tried.

    My pride and joy.

I don't regularly shave with any one razor since I have over 200 at last count. I have shaved with this Rogers Cast Steel a few times and got an excellent shave out of it. Another Rogers of a more recent manufacture, probably 1870s, is another example of senior blades for a senior citizen.

I have 2 Greaves razors and a Packwood... They aren't part of the rotation yet, but they will be after some honing and new scales.

I've got a few old wedges that date back to around 1860. I really like 'em..!

Any info on brand and age, how you got it? I love the stories we tell around here about our razors.

Whoa that is wicked! How do you shave with it since it has no tail? I'm so accustomed to putting my finger on the tail, how do you stabilize it? Just hold it by the shank?

    This is wonderful.

BTW you said you often go to Israel once--in what connection (PM if you wish)

I'm not sure of the age on this one but I am guessing it is the oldest one I have in rotation, and all my razors are in rotation.
