That is sad.
What do you have for DE's? I can't hone your straight (though maybe Sharptonn can). But maybe there's something with your DE setup that can be addressed to get you by until this is fixed or you can scrape together the dough for another one?
I had an issue with my straights that got me into DE's and with a little work I got them shaving better than the cartridges (though admittedly not as smooth as the Straights).

Thanked: 11well i was contacted by someone on B&B that will help me hopefully get this straightened out, so im feeling a little better now...
for DEs i have a bunch of vintage.. everything from a red tip, fat boy, single ring, etc, etc.. about 10 razors total i think.. ... and a merkur HD (all but the HD and fat boy will be sold soon)

Having no idea who contact you (and therefore not saying anything about that individual), I would caution you to send this razor only to someone you REALLY trust to do the work. That is a very unique and beautiful razor, and the last thing you'd want is for her to end up any worse. If the money is a factor (i.e. someone offers to do it free, or someone you really trust has a price too high or whatever), I think you are better off waiting till you can afford it than taking the risk. You'll have the money together long before you see another razor like that.
