I think the best option would be to throw on some tape and hone her out. If you are confident in your honing, you can start with the spine up a bit. Focus in at the toe so you don't put on excessive wear where you don't need to.

Thanked: 11i couldnt hone a razor to save my life... i was lucky enough to have a friend from here hone this up for me
the break isnt clean, and its about 1/2" total length...
im fearfull its toast.. and i literally havent had anything work lose to this well.. just depressing..
those lucky enough to afford multiple razors etc, be glad for your situation.. this may have put me out of shaving for a while.. i cant afford another razor, and my DEs just eat up my skin, i cant do anything without a ton of irritation with those damn things

I think if you sent it to the right person here, it could be fixed by making it "smile" a bit and a new bevel/honing done. You MIGHT like it better than ever! It is advisable to never shave when the wife might yell at you. Yeah, Thats it! Good luck!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 993If I was you, I'd contact some of the really senior guys like Max and Glen by PM. If anyone would know what to do, I think it would be those guys.
Terribly sorry to hear about this one. That really sucks.

When you say the break isn't clean, do you mean the blade is cracked above the chipping? Or is it just the chipping?

Did you actually have the razor to your throat when you're wife yelled at you & was she aware of that ?
Reminded me of another thread a while back where the guy said his wife liked to bump his elbow while he shaved.
PS I think the razor is saveableThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
