I don't think you guys understand how x-ray (or any other) scattering works. X-rays are electromagnetic radiation, same thing as light and it scatters off the electrons in the material.
There is simply not a cheap way to tell how much rust there is on the razor in a box, unless the blade has crumbled, which is extremely unlikely.
There's no magic going on, just quantum mechanics, so no point of just making up stuff when you have no idea how it works.
