Thanked: 1195I'm really digging my Mappins these days.
But who knows, ask me in a year or two and my answer could change. It's the nature of the beast

It's a tough call but the one that provides the best straights on a consistent basis over many different models is Le Grelot.

I would have to say right now my Wolstenholm Pipe razor is my go to razor right now. Odly enough it is probably my least attractive razor but the shave is oh so nice. I am not sure if that is strictly the razor or partialy I nailed the honing of that one better than the rest. Time will tell I guess as I just got a new Thurigan (sp?) and select Coti tonight that will result in a few of my razors hitting the stones again.

Tough call
Many nice shavers. Brand-wise, I've loved the Wackers. His 1/4 grind was my 2nd razor, and still the most natural shaver I have. I can still hear Holli saying: 'if you buy one Wacker, you'll buy more'. I'm contemplating the 6th now.

Thanked: 1936That's why I won't mention my favorite one. I have to say that before I started honing it could have been any razor that was honed to the "max" the steel could handle. A plain ole' vintage razor honed by a master-honer would make many think that particular brand of razor is the best. This is something we should keep in mind.
