Guy took a W&B barbers use 8/8 to antiques roadshow. They put him with the razor expert and he told him that he had it sanded, buffed, polished and rescaled in horn. The appraiser said it was worth $125 ...... but if it had the original scales and patina it would be worth $20,000
EDIT ; not really but stuff like that happens on there all the time ..... doesn't it ?Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanks all. I don't plan on sanding this thing into oblivion. Going to try the steel wool and go from there. I just want to make sure that I get all the rust. Pitting and patina I can live with. The scales need little except for some neatsfoot oil. I'll put some pics up when I'm done. I think it will also go up for sale, and thanks to JimmyHad the starting price is a steal at 15k.
Thanks
Bruce
