Thread: How can i safely store my razors in the bathroom

Heres how... and cheap too..

You can add some rice packets made from rice wrapped in cheese cloth to keep moisture down while its in the bathroom.

Anyone that's ever experienced rust in ordinary circumstances would never suggest bathroom storage but if you must, maybe store your razors inside Tupperware or similar vacuum sealed container with moisture indicators & silica packs.

I've been using a simple glass coffee jar (Folgers Instant, IIRC) and a few silica packs inside a wedding sachet bag. Total cost was around $5, I think. (The coffee was around $4 at the grocery store, the sachet was around $1 at the local craft store, and the silica packs were free from my wife's shoe boxes.)

Simple traveling toothbrush holders, I doubt you would get a big wedge in one but they will take the majority of straights.
I guess they would work equally well in the bathroom, there is enough room to fit a small bag of silica, the nice thing is they are fairly shatterproof and watertight.
They are ideal for transporting razors about.

I keep my razors in a drawer in the bathroom. I figured since I've made a significant investment in them I should at least do something for moisture controll. I use:

beat me to it, except I'm a pen roll man. Got an 8 pen roll holder for pretty cheap off of hisnibs.com - their big enough to hold whatever wedge you have and while your rolling it up put a dilica bag in there to suck up any moisture, plus its made from felt which also helps.

Ah bin scrapin' mah face with "cut-throats" fer near 50 yars now, have always kept my blades in an old beer mug on the bathroom counter. Put a piece of felt in the bottom and put a cupple drops of camphor oil on it bout once a month. (same reason the old machinist's tool boxes had felt linings in the drawers). Have never had a problem with rust, and smells good, too!

Hi guys: my idea would be alembicase, a humidor where the moisturizer compound is swapped for silica drying compound or simply to put them in a shoe box outside the bathroom.

Nice suggestions: learnt something.
