One of the things I have seen in third world countries, where there is high humidity was storing straight razors in a jar filled with mineral oil. These razors require removal of mineral oil and cleaning before use, however, there was no issue of rusting with them.

I store them in the bathroom on a shelf, after shaving I take the razor into another room to dry off and be stropped then when it's totally dry it gets folded up and put back on the bathroom shelf, I may make a case with some silica at some point but for now it's working fine (then again I don't steam up my bathroom often)

I normally keep 7-9 razors out at a time in rotation. They lay out to dry after use, overnight. Once dried throughly, I wipe it down with a silicone treated gun cloth, and put it back in rotation. This is fine for those sitting out. I have a nice piece of marble on my bathroom counter to display them on. Once that rotation has served it's time, they go back in the closet. They get treated with Renaissance wax. So far, So good with the Ren Wax, no signs of rust. I learned the hard way that camelia oil and mineral oil are no good for long term storage, at least for me in Flordia. YMMV.
I also picked up some stuff called Boeshield T9. It leaves a thin waxy film that clings to metal for months. It's also safe on plastics, vinyl, etc. so you don't have to worry about your scales. Thanks to the Renaissance wax, I haven't had to use.
