Thanked: 94correct me if im wrong guys, but isnt there a coating on mose disposable blades that makes stroping damaging to the blade?

I have on a pasted strop, it works but you might only prolong the life of the blade by 2 to 3 shaves at most. Not really worth the trouble IMO.
I found that in the beginning I got about 6-7 shaves out of a blade, these days I get a lot more out of one blade even when head shaving.

I love mine. They are fantastic shavers and I don't feel that there is a noticeable difference in shave quality when compared to a traditional straight.

I tried two of these and they're extremely well made tool and the shaves were great. Still to me the shaving experience was kind of lifeless and more like a DE than a straight razor, so I ended up reselling them at 25%-30% discount and it still took a long time before somebody bought them (in the case of the pleana it was months). I believe they eventually sold only after the retail prices increased, so I'd say there just isn't that much interest in these razors, and it was the really deep discount that finally sold them.

Used a Feather Super Pro blade with my DX today. Four day growth and it melted away the whiskers. For me these are keepers. Needless to say I ended up with a BBS.
If I was to compare it to a straight it would be the same as my Harts.

Thanked: 1okay, I threw in the towel and ordered a Feather RG and a pack of professional blades from Italianbarber.com ($99 + $14.99 for 20 blades):
Feather RG Original Folding Handle
I found a place that was much lower cost, but was unfamiliar with them so passed. The price is listed at an amazing $84.00 for the folding RG and $12.49 for 20 blades.

Thanked: 1While I am waiting for my Feather RG to arrive, I note the profile is perhaps similar to a wedge. Has anyone shaved with both a feather artist club and a wedge? Is there any similarity in how they shave?

there is some similarity but the shave is different, a feather shaves different then a straight IMO, but I can't really describe it, it's something you have to experience yourself.
