If it is in good condition it was a steal. Not sure about age relative to grind. Speculating that they may have made heavier grinds because there was a market for it even in the latter days. If you could post pics of the overall razor and of the tang stamp and/or any blade etchings some of our historians may be able to pin it down for you. Besides, we love razor porn.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Okay , here's your eye candy, pun intended as you'll see in a minute. I'm in a festive mood... Looks like a near wedge to me. And no writing on back side. This razor was in it's case since birth, except when on display. Never used and still had factory edge!!
