Thanked: 1195Nice question, but with more than 40,500 members and likely only a few hundred who contribute regularly it would be impossible to find the member with the oldest razor. If memory serves me I seem to recall seing a pic or a mid-to-late 18th century razor, but some of the collectors could possess older.
The whole thing seems like another excuse for razor porn...

Here are my oldest two razors, and no .... I am not the original owner ...... I'm thinking late 1700s or very early 1800s based on the stub tails and the straight scales with no curve. Also the blade has no distinct transition from edge to tang. The Rogers Cast Steel has wood scales and iron pins. Bought it off of ebay seller "itsakiller" years ago. The scales look identical to one in Robert Doyle's "Collecting Straight Razors" and the seller said they are original. I believe they are .... but who knows.

From a razor collector's book
caption under the photo in the book: These two old razors, pictured fully opened, are probably of Chinese origin in the 1700s, per-
haps earlier. There is no brand or stamping evident.
This one's mine.
