Thanked: 6Who here on SRP owns the oldest razor?
just out of my own wonder id like to see some old razors and see how old there are. just how far back in history can a srp member take us? . i know some of the guys on here have some really nice old razors. i even have one that is about 1920 or so but we can do way better than that 1800's, 1700's, 1600's, 1500's who knows! but the posts will tell us,we just have to wait for them to roll in.

Certainly not the oldest by any stretch, but I have an heirloom razor waiting for my little boy to grow up to inherit, it is his great-great grandfather's razor. So my best guess puts it at around late 1800's.
P.S. It is shave ready thanks to Glen.Last edited by ReardenSteel; 06-05-2012 at 11:06 PM.

Thanked: 1371My oldest, I believe, was made within 10 years either side of 1800.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

I'd be grateful if anyone could help me date this one: I figure it must be somewhere near 1800-1810, but can't say for sure.

Plenty old, this pair. The penning on the scales should date them way back in the 1800's

This 9/8 Masonic etched beast seems very old as to the tang/tail.
