GREAT thread! Nice to see and share! Thanks to all who have posted! This E. Rhodes was posted on "Razors" a week or so ago, but is the only one I have seen. Anyone else have one? Sheffield inspired really old German makes show up little, such as this Schmactenberg Bros! A P. Ford is unseen these days, esp in this grind! Fancy Heiffors seem extinct as well. They made some beautiful razors! A 17/16 Rich Herder sold in Oostburg is unseen! Ok. The criteria was rare makers, not sizes or models. Since that has gone by the wayside, (good thing!) as many models from prolific makers are very rare, I present this: A Geneva cutlery 9/8. Silly! (really Silly!)
I would continue, But must digress!

Thanked: 33Well, since I can't seem to find another one of these for the life of me... Maybe someone has one that they would like to get rid of, this is my very best shaver. Now the company is still around making knives and shears, but they haven't made razors since I think 1924 or 25. My 7/8 Gebruder Christians number 81 that looks like it has a frown but does not, it was just honed slightly improperly before I got it and I didn't want to do anything to mess it up, and I am using my cell phone to take the picture!!!

I got a 7/8 Genco at the local antique mall a few days ago. I'm still trying to get it properly scaled since it came in a set of busted C-MON scales.
My initial shave with it was fantastic and it honed up like it was thirsty to be sharp. Not quite as ridiculous as yours though.
(And it's Pennsylvania stamped.)

I've been a member of SRP for a while now and I haven't seen any of the following razors in my travels on the net or in local shops other than the ones I am posting here. I have a bunch that would fit into this thread but I don't want to hijack the thread w/ my collection. Here are a few. If there is an interest and I can find the time I'll post more in the future.
The razors are:
Bresnick Blue Jinx
A Boker seven day set in ivory
Botte and Fils
Jonrulf
Wostenholm Superb

Hehehe. Nice isn't it!!! Not bad for around the 1930's!! The person i bought it from can quite rightly be very proud of his work! I honed it up and shaved with it this morning. I think I'll be able to live with having a forgery. Being squarer than my usual shaver, of course i cut my ear with the first stroke LOL. Still keeping it though :P
I'd like to see a mexican razor?
And why aren't any of you guys in the chatroom? So many interesting things to talk about in this thread
