Thanks ! I haven't honed it or shaved with it . Maybe I will , one day . I have plenty of other razors to shave with , so it's not like I really need to .

Thanked: 3228Then that will make at least two of us with heart palpitations. Just a classy looking vintage razor without being over the top.

Thanked: 3164Unfortunately, I no longer have this Pearce Silver Steel razor:
A film studio props buyer bought it to use in the up-coming Anna-Karenina film (Jude Law, Keira Knightley) along with the other barber-related stuff you see in the scene (mugs, strops, cased 7-day Slater Bros set). It was a beauty, though!

Thanked: 884Indeed it was a beauty. Is that a "regimental or officer's" razor?
I think I'd have rented it to the movie folks with the clause that if they screwed it up, THEN they bought it.
Oh well.
I'll keep an eye out for your old goodies if I ever see the movie.

Thanked: 3164Hi Wullie,
They bought it, then asked me if I would grind the edge off! I told them I preferred people to shave with them, and wouldn't do it, so they had the prop-maker make a mock-up with a plastic blade for the shaving sequence. When they wanted the other gear they did in fact rent it at a very fair price, and even sent couriers to fetch it and bring it back again! The first consignment was for a box of 12 shaving mugs - they sent a guy on a motorbike to pick that up, but when he saw what it was he wouldn't take it, so they had to send someone in a car. No wonder it costs so much to make movies these days!
Regards,
Neil
