Razors are totally different grinds. Dovo BL is hollow ground Hart Steel is quarter hollow.
newly ground dovos are not in the same caliber as vintage ones.
I have seen 1 Hart Steel myself and the craftsmanship was superb. also heard from Jerry that The O1 steel takes a superb edge.
I would choose the Hart Steel.

So I guess you decided on the hart.
I have both a Hart and the BL and really you can't compare them because it's an apples and oranges type thing however for me I think the BL is tops all around. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 116Nice razor, good choice. As far as QC issues with Dovo these days: I've only heard of cosmetic issues lately. Hart as people mentioned is getting better and better (while i've never held any, i've read lots). I prefer heavier grinds, you may not, but regardless, I hope it shaves as nice as it looks. If you end up not liking it, send it my way for a trial :P

Thanked: 247dovo 5/8 Bergischer Lowe or Hart Steel straight?
I am sure the Dovo would have been nice too.
I have started my own collection of Harts...they are great, but I need an 8/8

I've owned both, never shaved with either one, sold them both and took a bath on each one.

May I suggest a tub for your next bathing experience? The Hart is only quarter hollow and surely would not hold much water
That is a shame...I wish I had been around to swoop up that Hart at a discount
Wow I'm full of it this morning.
Sorry, you did not get a chance to experience that Hart, I really love mine. I would guess the Dovo was probably also a nice experience missed. Hopefully you will get a chance to live it in the future?
