Not new to RAD at all, been afflicted for a long while. I saw this razor and it is just smashing, had to buy one! Good start to this community.

I have resisted long enough. Order's in! Now I only need to survive the wait...

    Cheers.

Mine arrived today! What a work of art, and an AWESOME shave! The only thing I don't like about it is it's so wonderfully sharp, I'm going to have to go re-watch all those honing videos and see how I can improve my own honing. I wish I could hone half as well as RW.

I'll second that! After shaving with Robert's work of art for a week now...exclusively...I can't praise it enough.

It is, indeed, incredibly sharp...and stays that way with only minimal stropping. I like the slight "heft" of the razor,
    and it is well balanced.

Two "new to me" features: the long tang and the pronounced smile. I like the long tang because it seems to give
me a bit more control of the blade with 2 fingers on the tang. Even given its heft, it still feels secure in the hand.

The smiling edge required a bit more care when stropping, in order to evenly work the entire edge, but the shape
    feels right to me.

All in all, it's a beauty! And an absolutely amazing shaver!

    Thank you, Robert!

Starting to get the Can't Wait Disease! Sadly, I have to wait a long time for relief!

Congratulations...how long ago did you order ? Is there a place to see where you rank on the waiting list ?

    Cheers,
    Rob

#41 arrived late last wk. It does not disappoint. There are other personalities to an edge I like better, so I went to the stones. And back again. Its about there, but never accept anything less than magnificent w/ Robert's steel. Its very close to perfect for me w/ the smile, the beefy shank, spine & wonderfully extended tang. If any of you guys are still on the fence, you won't see a better deal than this anytime soon. #41 has a loving home, next to a couple of beautiful siblings scaled in giraffe bone. Each is just good as anyone could ask for. Don't like the scales? (I've heard this). Who cares! You could have gorgeous custom scales made and still be $100 less than a normal - even plain razor from Robert. In my deluded estimation, no steel I've tried has a similar feel to Robert's. Its distinctive. At first I liked the feel of some other steels better, but that's changing. None of his 3 blades ever leaves the rotation drawer. They just don't miss.

I ordered in August. I don't know of any place to check your standings except for sending RW a private message. But when I got the call for payment, I got excited! A week or so later and I was shaving with art. Not artfully shaving, alas, but with a piece of art.

I'm curious what number my razor will be.

Robert confirmed my order for one of these razors on Jan 5th. No clue as to real wait time, but I don't expect to hear it's ready before summer or maybe even the fall of this year. I'll content myself with my Feather artist club ss japanese with super pro blades until then. Or perhaps try another razor if something interesting presents itself here in the classifieds... :-)
