Did he respond with any info? I just got a reply today with no text from him, just quoting my original order PM... I'm thinking just a blank reply is confirmation that I'm on the list?

Just shaved with mine. It was actually delivered to the UK around christmas time, but has only just managed to catch up with me, via a visit from my sister.
The weekend here is Friday and saturday, I hadn't shaved since Thursday morning, so 3 days of growth. I have also been shaving with a single razor for over a year and had never tried a smiling blade before.
It was of little consequence, the shave was fantastic, the smile if anything helps with some areas.
Thank you to everyone who helped with producing this Razor and special thanks of course to Papabull.

Thanked: 10My first shave was Sunday. Love the edge on this razor, very smooth yet still very sharp. I am wondering how the razor was honed so I can try to duplicate this edge on my other razors.
This razor from what I read is a 1/4 grind but it does not feel like a 1/4 grind, it feels more like 1/2 to me plus I am getting lots of sound where my other 1/4 grind razors are almost silent.
The slight smile is a very nice touch,I did not know it would have this.
Overall I am very happy to own this razor and I would like to say thanks to Robert for making this razor and to all the members that put this group buy together.

Thanked: 1936I believe Robert uses the double-bevel method finishing on Escher if I recall reading this correctly "somewhere" here.
Send him a PM, be patient on the reply as he's a busy guy, and I'm sure he will tell you.
Finishing using the double-bevel method (only using the finishing stone after adding the layer of tape) is a very effective way to get a nice edge.
Please note that I don't "know" how Robert finishes & could easily stand corrected.Southeastern Oklahoma/Northeastern Texas helper. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you and God Bless, Scott

I got my razor last week and got to try it out only yesterday. My first custom built razor and I am impressed. While I am no expert, the shave certainly felt very smooth to me. The razor was a little different to strop compared to my other razors. I just needed to go a bit slower and make sure I stropped the whole edge, almost a rolling X stroke seemed to do the job for me. A 3 day growth proved no problem for this razor to cut down to size.
Many thanks to all the members involved in making this razor a reality. Special thanks to Robert (Papabull) for putting his skill and time into crafting this great looking razor.
