Ya the same thing happened to me. Bought a Dovo with a package deal and when I got it, it said Col. Conk on it. But ya when I did the research, it's still a Dovo. Just re-branded. I'm gonna take the path of sending mine out. I'm not looking for resale value, but shave quality. Just need a work horse razor for every day shave and practice you know. It is still made in Germany after all.
Keep on shaving

Thanked: 5my col. conk says dovo right on the tang flat where the gimping is... my impression is the Col. Conk is a dovo best quality with a cool name on the blade. If you can get the BQ for cheaper buy it.

I bought a Dovo Col. Conk and it was sharpened by the Honemiester at West Coast Shaving, and it shaves real sweet, but I called and asked was it shave ready from the factory or did they Hone it before sending it to me, and they informed me it would be honed first, I only buy from places where I can get clear precise info on the product I am buying, when it comes to hardware (SRD AND WCS ) YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE THOSE DUCKETS ON JUNK, ALWAYS ASK QUESTION FIRST AND COMPARE IT TO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU BUY!!!! YOU KNOW!!!!!!!

Thanked: 5yeah I can't get any answer from anyone. I asked Larry from whipped dog before I bought, and he ignored the question. I've asked the youtube guy with the mustache, he just says its a decent razor. You guys on here are saying "if its honed by someone its a good razor"
No one will answer the question of is it the same thing as a dovo BQ, just with Col. conk stamped on it, or does it have better steel or anything nice material/finish wise. Still no answer.

Jeez, pushy much? Maybe nobody on the forum actually knows the definitive answer. Maybe they'd rather say nothing than offer up undocumented speculation that might be misconstrued as fact. Maybe you should contact Dovo and Col. Conk and see if you can get a definitive answer from them.
