Thanks Mr Had. Every little bit helps. Hope Neil, Manah, or Martin will weigh in if they have more info. Have been trying to find a tie, but have not yet. Had actually considered that maybe De Pew made this for Rodgers, or some similar arrangement. Appreciate your help!

In the razor world things sometimes pop up that defy explaination. I recently picked up a razor that looks exactly like a De Pew, less the patent info on the tang. It has Joseph Rodgers info on the blade, where there would usually have been De Pew info. Any ideas from anyone?????
    Thanks,
Comments about Revisor factory based only on purchases from them. I have no real understanding of how they obtain 'vintage' razors, or what they may or may not do to them.

    Hi Al,

thank you very much for your answer. Yes itīs right with this painted logo of Gotta.
I ask my friend Bernd, his grand-pa was the owner of Grah & Pluehmacher. They had the Logo "Gotta" and "Blue diamond".
They made these painted scales in the "bad time" of Germany, that means short after the end of the second world war.
New-silver inlays were not produced, the people in Germany had other problems, to find something to eat etc.,, so they made
a primitive stamp and had razors in exchange of meat, bread or flour. Perhaps you can copy my aswer in the tread.

    Best regards from Solingen/Germany

Bigeasy, look at this thread, just to complicate things a little more : http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...ease-help.html

The few Joseph Rodgers i came across with the Depew look alike tail and blade shape were both marked "Cutler to their majesties". That said the stamp means Victoria & Albert reign but to add to the confusion Albert died in 1861 and Victoria didnt remove his name from their reign, her reign ended in 1901.

Makes dating a Rodgers very difficult during Victoria reign because its such a large time frame (60+ years). Also the Rodgers Depew look alike, one of them had the England stamp, so that would make that one post 1891, the other one didnt..........

About Depew , "The Perfect Razor" 1882. The company located in England and USA, could it be that Depew was just a distributor of these razors. Perhaps they were all made by Rodgers?

Hi Martin, thanks for weighing in. You throw more questions at a guy looking for answers! Mine doesn't have 'England'. And there are no markings on the tang or tail, although that could have disappeared by now. But regardless, would be nice to know the story. I understand that DePew's name was on the patent, but not quite sure where or when I saw that. Would Rodgers have infringed on a patent? But then it isn't infringing if there is an agreement between the two? Thanks, have attached a couple of pics.
