The Sweet Anticipation Review.
Gentlemen - Like so many others, I thought it was time to slow down the collection and get down to "loving" what I had (being cash strapped helps lol). But the Acquisition Disorder machine that is SRP strikes again .
Relatively recently, a post concerning "dwarf" or what I call "shorties" came into play - http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...rf-razors.html - I happen to like shorties and as the thread played out, a manufacturer of razors out of the Ukraine showed off some of his work.
Here are some examples (go to the original post if you wish to see more):
Being I like shorties so well and find smiles stunning - his razors had an extremely large amount of appeal to me. I mean look at those things lol - they are awesome looking. I contacted the seller and he quickly responded with a link to his website. He also acknowledged after I mentioned that I was rather poor and would need to wait a while, that he could and would be happy to make any razor I liked if the one I wanted had sold.
Nice . Cuz being "cash strapped" is going to be a position I find myself in for a while.
Here is is website:

**** DISCLAIMER ****
Anyway, I continued to lust when about eight days later I got a PM. The vendor offered to sell me one of his shorties at a reduced price if I openly and honestly reviewed the blade. I think it is only fair that I mention that, and also state that at no point ever did I feel he didn't want me to be 100% honest. I get the feeling this is a gentleman who is very proud of his work and is more than willing to let his work do the talking as it were.
Moreover, his openness was rather stunning as he shipped the razor to me half jokingly stating that it might take till new-years for it to reach me - and to feel free to pay upon it's arrival. I don't know if I should have said that, but it talks volumes to the character of the vendor in my opinion.
So there you have it - that sweet anticipation is upon me! I love this feeling! Just nothing better in my eyes than waiting to get a new razor.
To be fair though. I am also nervous as sin lol. I generally never shave with anything over a half inch - 4/8's are my thing. Moreover - you see the smile on that thing LOL? I have to admit I have never shaved with a blade with a smile anywhere nearly as big as this . It's going to be Good Times!
Finally, I am going to go ahead and reserve the next three posts. The first for my initial thoughts. The second for the inaugural shave, and the third for a wrap-up review after using it exclusively for about a week or so.
I am truly excited and hope you post any questions, concerns... or what have you and join along in my anticipation lol.David

Thanked: 116Definitely looking forward for your review. I can't imagine shaving with a smile THAT pronounced. I've actually shaved with very few razors with a smile. I understand why the smile exists, but it doesn't do anything for me. How do you cut a straight line with that!?Hurry up and get your razor! This guys work looks top-notch and his designs are very original, I love his bigger blades too!

I'm really looking forward to seeing the review as well! I'll bet that's a great for getting into hard to get areas like the hollows on either side of your Adams apple. Plus it looks awesome!

You hit one of my concerns square on the head! I looked at my face in the mirror today and wondered the same thing when it hit me... I don't think I'll use a single "straight" line cutting action with it. It'll all be a kind of uh, rounded motion I am thinking. We'll see.
This is where I am sure it's going to shine right out of the gate... and like all of us, I have some hard to get to areas . Somehow I think it's going to do my cheeks justice as well.
Dang! Is it here yet lol!
Being that it will not make my wrists look too incredibly small as MLA likes to forever point out - maybe I'll take a video for my wrap-up review. If I get it right - I am not sure how I'll ever put it into words.David

Thanked: 116After shaving this morning I think I'd appreciate one of these blades for that spot on my neck! Since I just recently lost over 50 lbs, my neck is definitely a different shape. It would be fun to try this beside the adams apple for sure!
