What's the carboinox ? Is it a cross of carbon steel and stainless? Are you shaving with inox or carbon steel?

Think of it as a "steel sandwich": external layers (the bread) carbon steel, inner core stainless steel (the ham and cheese).

The edge (centre) that you shave with is stainless steel.

    I hope this explains it....

CarboInox is a special San Mai Damascus conceived by Mastro Livi by combining carbon steel (either plain steel or carbon damascus steel) to martensitic stainless steel (either plain stainless steel or carbon damascus stainless steel) therefore obtaining a damascus steel completely suited for tempering and hardening.
The cutting edge can be either made of carbon steel or stainless steel, as well as the combination of the two.

Sounds very technical. I,ve got a small loom on the way plus graffito. I,m sure I will invest on one of the carboinox later this year. They sure look the part.
