I've notice SRD doesn't have Livi razors listed on their site at the moment. I thought they were the only authorized dealers in the US. Has this arrangement ended or is it that they simply don't have any in stock?

    Grifetto!

Mastro Livi Grifetto rocks! Today I needed a super cooling shave - I do not like the heat and today it seems quite hot here - and I opted for a couple of products I knew they could give me a sort of cooling effect. I used Prep shaving soap, having a moderate cooling effect, and what gave me a super freezing touch was my homemade Thyrrenus aftershave. I in fact specifically made this aftershave for summertime and I wanted it to be super refreshing, just like ice cubes caressing your face. As for Mastro Livi Grifetto, it is always a super performing razor delivering a very close and super smooth shave as well as being very gentle on the skin. What a refreshing shave!

    • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
    • Soap: Prep Shaving Soap
    • Brush: Omega 21762 Italian Flag, 27mm knot

    Mastro Livi CarboInox KamiRazor "Perugia"

On the road again. For this month's business trip I took with me the latest addition to my collection: Mastro Livi CarboInox KamiRazor. I in fact want to enjoy this beautiful masterpiece for the next ten days or so and this seemed to be the right occasion. Smooth and super sharp, Mastro Livi's CarboInox is absolutely a joy to shave with. This time I also remembered to take with me my Mühle travel shave brush having a synthetic loft and very pleasing to use. The icing on the cake certainly was this super cheap Palmolive menthol shave cream, very refreshing and cooling and - at least here in Italy - you can buy a tube for a little more than one euro, at this price it is very hard to find something comparable to it and it is a pretty good soap for sure.

    • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
    • Soap: Palmolive Menthol Shaving Cream
    • Brush: Mühle Travel 31 M 530, Silvertip Fibre, 21 mm knot
    • Bowl: Chinese Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Travel Loom Strop and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Mastro Livi CarboInox KamiRazor "Perugia", 13/16 Full Hollow, Snake Point
    • Post-Shave: Alum Block
    • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
    • After Shave: Aqua Velva

I agree that Palmolive is an exceptional value, either as cream or as shaving stick (if you can find it, because it has apparently been discontinued some countries).
The shaving stick is very convenient for travel, and both creams and stick work very well.
In northern Europe you find the standard cream in a green tube, in Italy the standard cream is in a red tube (as in your picture) and the green tube is the menthol one.

Never understood why Palmolive did not standardize the colours and packaging, but for less than one Euro there is not much else to complain about, is there?

I like the Palmolive & I still have some left in the red tube. i have looked for it when I go to the stores but I have not seen it but I know they must sell it here. My friend gave me this one. I guess I should try Wal-Mart.

    Traveling with a KamiRazor

Still on the road, still shaving with this Mastro Livi KamiRazor with a blade made of CarboInox and abalone mother of pearl scales. After quite a long time, I used Aquagena shaving stick and, although it is a handy soap when you travel, it is however not my favorite soap. It is not so bad, however it is not that good as well. The heat of this period makes me want to use refreshing aftershaves and, in this regard, my Thyrrenus provides that super cooling and freezing effect I need for my skin.

    • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
    • Soap: Aquagena Shaving Soap
    • Brush: Omega Bristle #89
    • Bowl: Chinese Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Travel Loom Strop and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Mastro Livi CarboInox KamiRazor "Perugia", 13/16 Full Hollow, Snake Point
    • Post-Shave: Alum Block
    • Post-Shave: Umbria Extravirgin Olive Oil
    • After Shave: RazorGuy Thyrrenus

I just emailed SRD about getting a Mastro Livi loom strop and was told they no longer carry his strops or razors. Why I don't know, I guess you will have to contact Mastro Livi directly to get one.

    RWL34? Mastro Livi RWL34 Razor!

RWL34 is a stainless steel which will never stop to amaze me. Certainly one of the finest stainless steels used by Mastro Livi for his world famous straight razors, I am sure Mastro Livi's technique and craftsmanship in working this steel play a fundamental role in the final result. And the result is always a super close and super smooth shave, with a super cutting edge lasting for a very long time. Compared to Grifetto's stainless steel, RWL34 has a more aggressive touch which can deliver a very close shave. Not that Grifetto is not capable of giving a very close shave - indeed, Grifetto is a superb razor - I can however tell the difference. As for the rest, Martin de Candre shave soap is always impeccable and magnificent, proving to be one of the very best shave soaps around, while Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum has a fragrance recalling more pain d'épices than "pure" bay rum, however being a fine aftershave.

    • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
    • Soap: Martin de Candre
    • Brush: Omega Professional 10098, 27mm knot
    • Bowl: Chinese Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Medium Loom Strop "Coramella Italiana" and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Mastro Livi RWL34, 8/8 Full Hollow, Snake Point
    • Post-Shave: Alum Block
    • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
    • After Shave: Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum
