    Friday morning:

    Floris Shaving Soap
    Morris & Forndran L7
    Georg Butler 5/8
    Tüff sensitive unscented Aftershave
    Creed Green Irish Tweed

The Butler is a very pretty razor. A very well made blade. Handy to use and very accurate.

    Have a nice day!

    Prep: Kiehls Facefuel
    Prep Molton Brown shave oil
    Brush: Rooney best badger
    Lather: MDC
    Razor: Geo. Wostenholm 6/8
    Post: GFT Coral skin food

The Geo. Wostenholm - Conqueror arrived in the mail yesterday and apart from some minor pitting next to the etching, that I decided to leave as I did not want to damage The etch, the rest only needed a short polishing to shine up like it was made last week. The box has a date of nn/8/38. If this razor was used at all it was very lightly as there seemed to be little evidence of use or honing, the scales have no nicks or scratches. I gave it a progress through my hones and finished on a coticule and the ZG. It did not need any bevel correcting and took an edge better than any razor I own. I paid the princely sum of £25 (ebay) and would be reluctant to part with this one for 10 times that. I may be tempted to have the scales replaced at some point but will not rush into it.

Prep face wash L'Occitane vetiver soap
    Razor Feather DX - AC
    Blade Feather Pro
Brush Bill Jack Le Tuft 59 in buckeyed burl
    Cella crema da barba
    Alum & Thayers toner
    Kiehl's aftershave balm
Kiehl's original musk blend No 1 Edt

There's nothing much to say about the Feather DX, you know every time you use this razor what kind of shave you are going to get top draw especially using the Feather Pro blades, so easy to use such a smooth delivery, pretty much faultless shaver.

Last night's post that I'd typed up, but then the power went out, so posted now. Tell you what, we're certainly not ready for the zombie apocalypse, a 15 hour blackout caused mayhem, though showering and shaving this morning by candlelight was rather romantic.

    Thursday

Razor | De Pews | Soap | Crabtree and Evelyn Nomad | After Shave | Blue Stratus

Nice shave with the De Pews as far as how it handles goes, but STILL the edge isn’t ‘there’. Maybe it never will be? Maybe I should just send it away; like sending away a son or daughter to a boarding school, to be ‘made proper’. I’m not sure how parents could ever do that. I guess their kids must be horrible; annoying little pimply pale things that pinch.

The De Pews is not an annoying pimply pale thing that pinches so I’ll continue to guide it; take it under my fatherly wing so to speak. Maybe we’ll go fishing together down by the docks; eat chips and look at the sky.

I like it, though I don't normally like rhyming poems. Mine aren't really poems anyway, they're more a monologue or something. I do like Charles Brokovbsy, he 'just said' stuff, I think it's sometimes important to 'just say' stuff; without a filter that's trying to work out what your fellow societal members 'value' or 'allow'...

Well well well, Mr Deegee. I know it is not de rigueur to quote a photo but I beg forgiveness of the forum.

May I say this is the most unique SOTD photo of the year? I like it. I like it a lot...

    Thanks.

For those still wondering, or skeptical, yes it was the Progress Vulfix 404 brush... not just a random collection of sticks or whatever.

A wonderful way to wind up the work week:

He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.
