19/7/2013 - The "Cheap ass" shave.

Size: 86.7 KB

Pre : Old Spice preshave wash - 99p
    Soap : Palmolive cream - £1.50
    Brush : Turkish "No.6" - £3.59 inc.shipping
    Razor : Wilkinson Sword Classic - £4.99
    Blade : Israeli-made Personna - £2.50
Post : Homemade lime scented balm - aloe vera gel: £2.50, witchhazel and alcohol: £2.49, lime essential oil: £2.49

    Finish : BBS

    Comments :
This one was after a comment I saw in a Facebook group, asking if cheap shaves were allowed to be posted. Todays items cost no more than £22 in total. Y'can keep yer "Feather DX shaving club" razors and yer Rooney brushes. I'm more than happy with what the above delivered.

The heat wave here in Ohio is supposed to be over tomorrow or the next day, the heat index is 105 deg. F. for today with around 90% humidity. The heat will just suck all joy out of the day...except for the shave in the morning...so, I guess I am pretty happy! Smooth in 3.

    Prep: Lukewarm Shower, Olive Oil
    Razor: Merkur 37C
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Cream: C.O. Bigelow
    AS: Aqua Velva Classic
    Finish: Acqua Di Gio

I really like the Bigelow Cream paired with a menthol AS this time of year (Aqua Velva or Skin Bracer both work well)

The Butler is a very pretty razor. A very well made blade. Handy to use and very accurate.

    Have a nice day!

Thanks Grazor, hope you find one as nice as this... The scales are like new (after 70+? Years), no nicks or anything, the plastic scales just don't blow my hair back or do the blade justice but I think i will live with them for awhile and see

Mcbladescar, Floris soaps are really nice and I am surprised not to see more folks using them, I have a puck of Elite and the quality is good. Floris seem to have a few sales a. Year so if you look out for that you may get some at a semi decent price
