Yesterday's shave was so good that I really didn't need to shave today but I couldn't help myself... . Ivo, have you run the Dorko over a paddle strop with .25 paste. I did with mine and it is super sharp and leaves me BBS.

Great shave. Unlike the Koeller this one honed up like falling off a log. Couple of licks on the norton to clean up the bevel, then maybe a dozen on the 8k and 15k Shaptons. No microchipping issues at all.

This used to be one of my prefered shaving soaps, but since I've been using the Honeybee soaps, I've become spoiled and I think this is now going to be used as bath soap!

Thanked: 9Rich, no - I used Norton 4K, Belgian natural (both sides) and then chromium oxide. I *may* try it once again (sometimes razors can be a bit rough first time off the hones) like this, but actually it seems more probable that it would get some Coticule and CrO2 love again before it's next appearance in SOTD.
Thanks
Ivo

Another just honed razor. I prefer somewhat larger blades but this one has some heft in the spine giving it more weight so I'd call it a quarter hollow. It took the stubble off quite smoothly but was also a bloodfest. No real nicks but plenty of places where the blade broke the skin. It reminded me of using a new twin blade disposable; the first couple of shaves caused the same thing because the blades were so sharp. By the third shave I'd get a close shave without the bloodletting so I figure the same thing will happen with a str8.
