    Randy,

thank you for the tip. I do this normally, and even notice that my skin tolerance to various soaps changes (up and down ) - so I am not going to throw it away or something.

The thing that led to my disappointment was that I read a nice review, and lathering on face started really well (better than some other soaps - I guess because it's not too hard and is quickly softened by water)

On a positive note - it is helping my B&B brush lose its badger note and is replacing it with a very macho scent. Did you get yours and how do you like it?

    Cheers
    Ivo

    Fri:

    Rooney small style 1 brush
    Gold Dachs Spezial soap
    Hand American strop
    6/8 Wacker "Stippleback"
    Pinaud Clubman

This razor was sharp enough to give a comfortable shave, but not quite as sharp as I'd really like it to be so it's going back on the hone this weekend. Still a good shave though.

This is one of my favorite razors and it just came off a refresh on the boron carbide and chromium oxide. Really nice shave!

    Sat:

    Rooney small style 1 brush
    Gold Dachs Spezial soap
    DD#50 strop
    6/8 Wostenholm "Celebrated" 1/4 hollow
    5/8 Union Spike
    5/8 Kinfolks "The Ace"
    5/8 Clauss Barber's Special
    5/8 Waterville Sheffield
Feather AC w/ super pro blades
    Pinaud Clubman A/S

Shave-test day. A pretty solid success, except for the Kinfolks which needs some more attention. The Feather was used to clean up the places I missed in between the various test patches.
