09/01/2013 - No pic again, my C.V.Heljestrand was getting honed up. So it's a test shave today...

    Soap : Palmolive cream
Brush : Unknown brand acrylic handle boar
    Razor : 1870 C.V.Heljestrand frameback
    Post : Homemade balm
A/S : Vintage Bodyshop "Mostly Men" sandalwood a/s

    Finish : BBS

    Comments :
60 laps on the King 800, 40 on the Ice Bear 1K. The test shave felt rough, but the results were passable. A further 40 laps on the Ice Bear 6K, 40 on the Dragon Tongue, and 60 on the Crox, hide and leather strops.

    Pre-shave: Proraso Pre Shave Green
    Soap: Baume.be shaving cream
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Bowl: Muhle Porcelain Shaving Bowl
    Razor: Tosuke Japanese Kamisori
    Post Shave: Baume.be aftershave balm

After getting used to a western straight, this kamisori was something different. The shave wasn't smooth, had to do 3 passes, and I've nicked myself a few times (1 fairly large cut)... Need more practice!

    Thursday evening
Prep: P90X3 - CVX and honing this razor to perfection
    Hot water prep
Greaves & sons 15/16 spike point (that bit me, lol) - Scrupleworks Swedish Bridal and cotton strop (awesome drag) - Proraso red cream - New Forest Badger brush - cold water splash - Thayer's Rose witch hazel resplash - Lorenzo Villoresi Iperborea sampler EdT

Yup... Done it. I honed this razor to perfection. One of these "effortless edges" that I cherish. Only the razor seems to do the work. Even the chin area was flawless. If only all shaves were like this.
The Iperborea is almost the last of the Villoresi samplers. I like his work. This one, the misses even liked, so I got lucky.

    TGIF gents, tgif...
