A rare shave this morning , I used my new arrived " Pepys & co ( mpagny )", " London made" on the back of the tang.
I 've already wrote (mostly in english) a review on the french forum "coupe chou club" and "leretourducoupechou" here:
Pepys and cie London made (on y parle de WOOTZ)
It is rare because authentically made out of Wootz by a great scientist, also son of a London Cutler, and culter himself, who has conducted research on Wootz steel in parallel with Stoddart and the famous Faraday.
For "safety" I also had two other English razors restaured and honed the very same day. A A. Jordan Sheffield "the AAAI brooklyn " ( probably a razor made for the brooklyn american association of artists and Interprets founded in 1917 ) and a microtome William Ragg Sheffield, honed as a Kamisori ( 7 ratio on the flat / 1 on the hollow)
Results : with the Peyps : I do not feel the blade, his he cutting, am I asking to myself ? Oh yes, incredible softness while being very efficient. It reminds me a 1820 Rodgers that left me the same impression of sweet caress. Delightfull !
I made two passes with him, and for the last I suspected that this feeling is not only due the quality of the razor, but to a meticullousand very good preparation ( hot shower and facial massage) so I picked up the tow others more "hard" , but equally effective
Time for the pictures ( the soap is the old school "gentlemen and officers" from Trumper, shaving brush made by Shengouille from the CCC, Cologne Roger Gallé from the original recipe of Farella )
I'm very happy as you can imagine !Last edited by charlie48horlogerie; 01-12-2014 at 11:01 AM.
