Sometimes, the anise/licorice notes from the shaving cream can detract from those same notes in an afterscent (rather than adding to them). I'm a big fan of Lolita Lempicka au Masculin, but I tend to use it following Cyril R Salter's Almond shaving cream. If you're curious, and willing to spend a few bucks for another anise/licorice afterscent, I recommend Anice, by Etro. It's been my experience that BaseNotes is a jim-dandy source of information, and the knowledge (and reviews) has helped me enjoy this aspect of our shared hobby.
