In my experience the Taurino and Doble Temple look exactly the same, except the etching... But no matter what (honed and finished on different hones) the Doble Temple is always smoother and gives me a better shave then the Taurino. They are very close but there's definitely a difference and something that makes the DT stand out. Subtle enough for me to notice and keep the DT if I had to to chose between the two.

The EPBD is an 8/8 sized razor (mine is) so you're dealing with a larger razor to start with (compared to my 6/8 DT and Taurino). The EPBD shaves me extremely well. Nothing to complain about. Smooth and sharp.

So far my EPBD and DT are my 2 favorite Filarmonicas. And I'm talking the older ones that have the 'Jose Monserrat Pou' on the tang.

Ah, I know what it is - you didn't swirl it enough in the bowl. Also, you might want to try a tad less water. Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Its almost like a ASB, and doesnt take much to get a good lather going. That being said its fairly mediocre. The scent and performance isnt anything to write home about. The scent is a pretty bland orange citrus kinda smell.

    Beard Prep: Hot bath/conditioner
Razor: Vintage ERN2633 Gong Extra Hollow
    Strop: Dovo
    Brush: Kent Pure Badger
    Soap: Ingram Cream
    Astringent: Alum block/Nivea as balm
    AS: Diesel fuel for life
    Result: 3 passes BBS
Conclusion: I like the Ingram! and after a quick rehone and damn good strop, the Gong was nice and smooth, not as smooth as my Bart honed Dovo, and still a little rash from yesterday, but a good shave nether the less :-)
