Joed - Can I ask how you like the Royall as an AS? I have some Brooks Brothers gift cards burning a hole in my pocket, and their Bay Rhum [sic] is on my short list...

Dec 15 Shave
At last everything is almost back to normal...I chose to shave with the Boker razor again tonight since I am having problems handling the 5/8 blade.
Hot shower + Proraso took care of the prep stage. The soap that I
used tonight was the Proraso green tube always in my rotation, I am getting to the conclusion that I favor boar brushes better than badger hair, so I used the only one I have: the Omega professional model, a big brush. The Thayers astringent is always preceded by a cold water wash, followed by Italian Floid aftershave. Since I am stepping out with the wife tonight I am using Guerlain Imperial as my cologne of choice. Shave on.
Background music: Pink Floyd- Us and Them.
Adult drink-some red wine.

Tuesday + new La Toja Sensitive
Soundtrack - my wife practicing Brahms 2
Prep - hot water
Strop - VB "2 web/latigo 100/100
Brush - WS Boar
Cream - La Toja Sensitive
Razor - Wostenholm Pipe 5/8 round
AS - Skin Bracer
ASB - Nivea Extreme
So...my La Toja tube came in today and as someone mentioned in another post (in what I hoped was the voice of James Brown), "Look out!". The scent is something else - super earthy and arromatic in a way I can't get my head around. I think that if there was a contest to name the scent of the LT, I would make my entry "Dawn on the Sarengeti". The lather is good, a little more foamy than creamy and the scent is definately staying for seconds. I'm not sure that this will be a fist call cream for me - I think I like the bracing quality of the menthol/eucalyptus...more of the soapy/fresh feel, but none the less I am pleased to have it as part of the arsenal (such as it is). I'll add to this if I think of anything else...
Have a great night!
Julian
