Razor: Bengall wedge in dyed horn scales
    Aftershave: Proraso

I've started drinking between passes occasionally. This time with some sort of Taiwanese spirit, I guess you could call it a cross between vodka and sake. It's a bit rough but the shave was amazing. I am thouroughly plesed with this Bengall wedge, it shaves like its going through warm butter. Very nimble too because of its small size - just a real pleasure to use. I think the dyed horn scales are sweet too...

A classic razor for sure. It might be better to leave the alcohol as an AFTER-shave. You don't want to lose any vital extremities!

    JHenry,

Loved the deep engraving in that blade. BTW how do you like the Thater brush and how does it compare to other badger hair brushes that you own?HOG

    Razor: 5/8 Solingen Mehaz
Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum and Sandalwood
    Mug: Ceramic Clipper
    Brush: Medium Badger
    ASB: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Ogallala Bay Rum and Sandalwood
Cologne: Ogallala Bay Rum, limes and peppercorns

Just got the Mehaz back from Glen with a beautifully honed edge. It took a scarry sharpe edge and shaved like a dream. I bought this about 8 years ago and it was advertized as a Dovo second, due to a cosmetic blemish. (small stain on the blade tip just under the spine) I was hopeing that the blade would be quality metal like the Dovo's but I wasn't sure. I think, I might have gotten lucky with this cheapy but it depends on how it holds this edge with use. We shall see. Beautiful shave kits shown by all this morning Gentlemen! Thanks for sharing!

    Hog,

Thanks for the compliment about the engraving on the blade of my 6/8 Bengall. I picked it up from an online vendor after falling in love with Sir Ralfy's Bengall.

As for the Thater...I like it a lot, even though I feel that it is not fully broken in yet. Once it is, I think I will like it even more. In terms of a comparison with my other brushes...It falls somewhere between my Omegas and Rooneys. The Thater has the softness of my Omega brushes, but the stiffness of my Rooney brushes. It works well with both soaps and creams.
