    Default Shave of Leon

    Location: Taipei, Taiwan
    Time: 22:18
    Razor: Cabeza de Leon 14
Brush: Restored Fuller Black and Marbled Butterscotch 22mm knot by Prophetic Joe
Razor: Cabeza de Leon 14 (Vintage Spanish Steel!)
    Shaving Soap: Knize Ten
Aftershave: Geo F. Trumper's West Indies Lime Skin Food

Long blade with the slightest smile, exquisite shaver - thank you Jose. BBS all places apart from some areas around my chin I am really having trouble with. Great Friday evening shave. I needed it since I have to go into work tomorrow morning. I know it's been a while since I've posted - I just wanted to post something other than the three other razors I used to have a kept on posting. With the arrival of a few new straights there should be a few more on the way.

Glad to hear Big Ugly dodged a porcelain bullet. Not the best way to wake up in the morning, I'd imagine...

Yeah, both are great shavers. These two and the Heljestrand are probably my favorites at the moment.

    SOTD Friday May 7, 2010

Razor: 3/8 EMCO (Henckels) spike point
    Soap/Mug: Tabac
    Brush: Medium Badgr
    ASB: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue

As promised here is the 3/8 (or 7/16 depending on how you measure it) Barbers razor, AKA the little Vampire! Thought I would use it for the whole shave but, really this is a specialty razor for shaping the upper cheek beard-line. (at least that's what I use it for) It's great for the very tight areas but, it drew blood 4 times with that little spike on my neck. It is definately not the razor to use for your daily shave! Outstanding photos and shave kits shown today Gentlemen! Thanks for sharing!

    • "Silberstahl Solingen" 5/8 French point with thumbnotch and MoP scale inlay
    • CarrieM's "Dragon's Blood"

Lee and I cannot agree whether he just gave me a really good deal or even threw in the razor in a lot I bought from him. It had been with a friend of mine for some times, and almost forgotten. Bart kindly brought it back to life, and let me tell you, it is a fantastic shaver. Razors like these just give me a pause when I think, 'Robin, you really should get one of these new, and expensive, 8/8 razors from one of the Solingen manufacturers', simply because they will likely not shave any better - just look a lot cooler.

Anyhow, very enjoyable shave. CarrieM's creams are simply good stuff. The Dragon's Blood is the first one whose scent I find not quite agreeable, though - too sweet for my taste. A bit like sugary bay rum.
