Just honed this razor tonight on my new Kiita from JimR using a honzan slurry stone. Worked well and I had a great first shave with this razor.

    Hansama Yasuki Steel Kamisori
    Penhaligon's English Fern Shave Soap
Semogue LE Boar brush - this one keeps getting better and better
    Alum Block
Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet ASB - I somehow forgot that these scents don't go together. It's ok though, cause the BB faded quickly

    Talking Sunday

    Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Martinez' custom: Chess King w/ 26mm silver tip badger
    Soap: Mama Bear Dragon's Blood
    Strop: Tony Miller Heirloom tri-strop
Razor: Wade & Butcher 8/8 "For Barbers Use" w/ ebony scales
    ASB: Caswell-Massey Newport
sound track: Anne-Sophie Mutter - Suite #3 Johann S. Bach

Great, slow, relaxing BBS shave, with the W&B that Glen aka. gssixgun fixed up. It shaves even better than it looks.
What a wonderful way to start a new day! Have a great week of smooth shaves!

    Brush: Semouge 2000
    Soap: Cella
    Astringent: Alum

Scary sharp Helje made a couple of nicks, when I was relaxing away, thinking: "this is going smooth and easy" . Cella is good for me - thick long lasting lather, mmm.

Going with the Griffin today (my uncle gave to as a gift a while back; I rescaled and sharpened it....My uncle PJ Winters is dying in the hospital today. He was a selfmade man who never went to college and made his name as a feather weight boxer in the 60's in the Army. He owed several car dealerships down in California after leaving the Army and started up a bunch of boxing clubs down there. He was a tough man who never asked for anything, nor did he hesitate to give to people in need. His manner was gruff and some saw him as somewhat abrasive...I did not..I (like many of us who embrace the old ways) saw him as a blue collar guy who acted as gentleman when expected, and as a "Man to be respected" when required. I am not telling you this for sympathy, nor do I wish for any. I just wanted you all to know there are still a few of us out there who understand what it means to be a "man"...Not just a "male of the human species"....If that makes sense....Of course, I am rambling a little now..Have a great day and hug your daughters; shake hands with your sons (so they know the difference)..grab the fishing poles, or golf clubs and revel in your day!
