    Wednesday 8/4/10

    A.Feist & Co. Lunawerk (Luna Deluxe) 5/8
    E.J. BBB
    Speick sc
    Thayers Cucumber WH w/ aloe
    Speick a/s
    Musgo Real a/s balsam
    Dunhill for Men Edt

Very good shave this morning despite lather that was a little thin (I may have not shaken the brush enough)...but with a few touch up passes the results are as good as I get with the straight.

    SOTD Wednesday August 4, 2010

Razor: 5/8 Geo. Wostenholm Pipe Razor Full Hollow, Round Point
    Shaving Cream: Ingram
    Lather Bowl: Ceramic
    Scuttle: RAB Ceramic
    Brush: Col Conk Barbershop Badger
    ASB: Nivea Replenishing
Aftershave: Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue

The Ingram Shave Cream was great! Lots of cushion and glide similar to the Erasmic. The scent of the Ingrams was very pleasant. It has a clean Linen scent and reminds me of clean laundry. There must be a little menthol in there as well. It felt nice and cool very refreshing on a 96F day! It didn't hold it's lather as well as the Erasmic but it would rejuvenate immediately with a few drops of water and a stir with the brush. Excellent shave cream!

    Thumbs up Wednesday Shave

Been a while since i shaved and was looking forward to it all week.

Had a seatbelt laying around the house that i made into a belt but decided it was time to make it into my strop. It seems much finer that the poly web that came with my leather strop so i use it as an in between and got amazing result today!

Here you can see the comparison between the strops and how the blue one has finer thread that leave a smoother finish to the razor.

Nice setup! How is the C&E sandalwood? Where are you buying your grelot? How does it shave? Looking for one myself!

    Default Wednesday

Prep: Hot shower--followed by Robeson bay rum beard prep method
    Brush:
    Simpsons PL8
    SC:
    Ingram
    Strop:
VB Red Latigo--50 fabric; 55 leather
    Razor:
    7/8 J A Henckels Friodur "INOX"
    Astringent:
    Thayers Original Witch Hazel
    ASB:
    Zirh “Soothe”
    AS:
    Floid (Spanish) “Suave"
    Result:
A very cooling and refreshing shave…

Using mentholated as opposed to regular bay rum as part of my beard prep added a welcome extra cooling step in my shave for what is a very hot & humid day here in the heartland.
